Very nice! What kind of soil do you use?
Proportion of organic - inorganic material?

There are 3 diferent trees. All off them are collected.

My opinion, the best period for collecting is last period of winter or just befor the buds open. For Cyprus February-March. But if you want to collect crataegus (hawthorn), the buts sometimes open in December. If you have too much experiment and know how to after care, you can collect from November to March. For example, the tree in first and last foto collected at 20 March 2008.

If roots are vigorous and healthy there is not problem when repotting.

Soil is always problem for me. Because I have too many trees and need too much soil. So mostly I used mixing off garden soil, gravel and torf. Sometimes I have problems.

Carob tree roots are very brittle. Very sensitive for waterlogging and root rot.

If roots are healty and not pruned too much,it’s Ok. Also good drainage soil mix is important.

For information here is same more fotos about repotting :

Carrob trees in nature usually do not have dead wood in the form of jins. Do they?
Well, I have one carrob (it's a nursery tree) which has lost its apex. This dead apex I have cut back and now the tree has a jined apex and some side branches underneath.
What do you think about this issue?
I know I have to post some photos... but later on... in due course... Very Happy
