CRATAEGUS AZAROLUS

Post  Savvas P. on Sun Dec 18, 2011 9:02 pm

Collecting the "rubish"......Walking on a mountain which was being tortured by sheeps and goats
(apparently the best yamadory places)i saw this crataegus...it seems that it was in the way of somebody so it was brought down by force....tempting enough to take it off.....it has many good characteristics and i think i got enough root....i hope i have some luck with this trees this year..... santa santa [img][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/img][img][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/img][img][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/img]

The collecting time seems to be fine.
If you got enough roots then you will be lucky Cool

Apparently we had an issue with timing....from what we realize from talking about the species with friends with more experience, because by early february leaves already appear on this trees this time is more apropriate to collect them...lets see.... thumbs up thumbs up

not very good pictures, but i was suprised with the growth i got of this trees....apparently 3 crategus that were in nylon bags all this time(2 months ) reacted better than all the yammadories this year so far....i know its too soon for results but after 3 years trying with this kind these are my best results....lets see what the future will hold..... cheers cheers

So far so good!
Well done Savvas.
Lets see how they will react during the upcoming hot summer.
If bag removed be alert!!! Try to keep foliage wet and if you see any bad signs on the new growth then cover the tree again with a bag. Sometimes there is no way back.
