SAVVAS VISIT TO DAVE YARRANTON

Post  Savvas P. on Mon Nov 18, 2013 7:47 pm

Last week i was in Manchester to visit my son,and i took the opportunity to visit our friend Dave Yarranton at his home...Dave picked us up from Chester and drove us to his place In Wales..What a change of scenery, from dry Cyprus to nearly always wet Wales.Kath,Daves wife was there to greet us,she prepared our hot tea and coffee together with some delicious cookies and cakes...Soon the "boys" arrived...Dave invited 3 friends of his to come as well to see us and spend together a few hours talking and exchanging our views about, what else,BONSAI off course. We had our drink in the winter shelter which was only finished a couple of weeks ago,and then i hear Bill saying"Come on guys isnt it time to go out and see the BOYS"...as Dave explained to me "BOYS" are their bonsai...so out we go...Dave guided us through his trees....Super trees,Super material, some are "show ready"and off course some are winners of shows allready......Dave is a man that knows the subject very well, and his trees tell the story..All the trees reflect the character and knowledge of their master..I will try to tell the whole experience with fotos off course, but dont be impatient....Special thanks to Dave and  Kath(thx to Kath for a lovely hot soup and lunch as well) for their hospitality, and also to all the guys for a lovely day....

Further to the above i want to say that all the guys are members of Wirral Bonsai Society...http://wirral-bonsai.blogspot.com/
Doug Mudd is a well known bonsai table craftsman.....http://dougmuddbonsaitables.com/.....Bill G....as i was told has very good trees of which he promised to send me some pictures, and if you see their blog some of his trees are winners(specializing on medium size trees(chuchin)....and our photographer is the photographer of their club....CONFIRMED......Yes he is Jim the Lad

Satzukis can be very impressive in flower.
They can make very beautiful trees even without their flowers, showing impressive nebaris and movement.
