wiring marks

Post  stavros on Sun May 22, 2011 2:14 pm

Many bonsai enthusiasts are afraid to leave the wire on because it might bite in and mark the branches.
This might be the case when a tree is wired and neglected leaving the wire for too long.
But leaving the wire a bit longer than most people would can only make things better: it will help the branches stay in place, it will induce some swelling of the branches as a reaction of the plant to the reduced flow of the "juices" in the wired area.

And the trees do manage to heal the scarred areas by the wire, (if not neglected)........

Have a look....the wire was removed about a month or so ago..........
